An original watercolor painting on a round wood panel. I have painted the edges gold to serve as a frame if need be.

The swamp is rarely pictured as the magical landscape that it is in the Southeast/lowcountry. It is never celebrated to the level of the beach-scapes and marsh scenes, but to me it is an essential landscape of where I have grown up and lived most of my life. This painting catches a glimpse of the swamp in the night hour with a green-teal dusken glow to the sky. Its resident ghosts: the barred owls, fly and perch silently. Fireflies frolic about and offer a gentle glow around the bald cypress trees, spanish moss, and swamp lilies in bloom.
