This is a made to order item! It will vary from the pictured pieces due to the nature of completely handcrafted jewelry making. Each one always turns out a little different and unique.
Datura is a plant of many names. Sometimes moon flower, jimsonweed, thornapples, angel’s trumpets or devil’s trumpets. It is a poisonous plant that is associated with the night.
Some of its variations have lovely, swirling ruffled trumpet blooms. I’ve drawn out the blossoms and their leaves, then transferred them to sterling silver sheet metal and sawed them out by hand. I carve by hand into each of the blooms and leaves for details, then oxidize the earrings for a dark grey finish. The datura was lightly polished to give the dark details some shining contrast.
There is an add on option for adding blue labradorite, or rainbow moonstones to these earrings. The labradorite stones are 4mm. Rainbow moonstone is about 6mm.
Chain thread portions of the earrings are 3 inches long. I’ve posted one photo of the earrings next to a US quarter for a sense of size.
