This is an original painting on a 6 inch round wood panel, it has a notch for being mounted on any wall, but I can add a wire framing option to the back if requested.
The swamp in fall season, when bald cypress trees become deeply russet toned. A cattail patch grows in the front part of the swampy pond, with an assortment of turtles sunning with a white egret perched nearby and a grey heron flies off.
I painted this work with multiple layers of watercolor paint on top of a wood panel surface. Part of what I love about this technique is that you can see the wood grain show through. You can also see some of the metallic ink shimmer on the painting depending on light. The edge is stained with indigo watercolor, and the panel has been given a matte varnish spray to protect it.
